Florence and Hurricane Season Preparations

The news has been inundated with projections regarding Hurricane Florence, and rightfully so. Preparation during hurricane season should be a way of life and good business practice too. Although direct impacts from Florence in Virginia may not be as detrimental as originally projected, there is still great potential for wind damage and flooding, which can stir up concern for forest product businesses and woodland owners. There is little doubt that the Virginia- Carolina region will have a period where timber harvesting and wood movement will be very difficult. This can cause a very negative economic drain on our mills, loggers, and forest landowners.
