UW-Madison Extension Forestry is excited to announce upcoming women woodland owner events in the Ashland, Bayfield, Douglas, and Iron County area! We are partnering with women natural resource professionals and local landowners to provide opportunities to:
- Connect with other landowners and professionals
- Learn about and identify invasive plants that are common in northern Wisconsin
- Learn how conservation easements work on private woodlands
- See how local landowners are improving water quality on their land
- Learn how woodland owners are confronting forest health issues

STEPS FOR REGISTRATION
- Register on the UW-Extension Forestry website – REGISTER HERE
- Pay $35 for registration via Cashnet OR mail in check by September 12.
- OR pay $12 per event if you can only attend one or two (specify which you will attend in an email or call to Lauren Larsen).
- After you register and pay for the series you will receive an email with field day locations and additional information by September 15.
EVENTS SCHEDULE
Field Day 1: September 17, 10am-2pm
Join us for a guided tour to learn how one Iron County landowner is applying her passion for ecological integrity on her property by protecting streams, managing wildlife impacts, and controlling invasive plants. During this tour you will learn about Canada yew and other rare plant monitoring, sugarbush fundamentals, and how to use cost-sharing to accomplish forest and water quality goals on private woodlands! Boxed lunches will be provided. Location near Gurney (WI) provided upon registration.

Field Day 2: September 24, 10am-2pm
Join us in touring a beautiful Brule River property to experience how one landowner is managing her legacy property by strategic tree planting, invasive plant management, and restoring pollinator habitats. On this tour you will learn about her experiences with conservation easement planning and managing forest health concerns. Boxed lunches will be provided. Location near Brule (WI) provided upon registration.

Invasives Hike and Learn: October 15, 10am-1pm
Join us for a fun guided hike along the Northern Great Lakes Visitor Center boardwalk to learn about invasive plants, native plant and prairie restoration, seed orchards, and rare and uncommon bee species that are found in northern Wisconsin! After the hike, join local women woodland owners and resource professionals for a happy hour at a local establishment (to be determined).
