Hosted by Women on the Land in Massachusetts
Join us Saturday, May 7th from 10:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m., for a free woods walk for women hosted by the Women on the Land network and the Dartmouth Natural Resources Trust (DNRT)!
Linda Vanderveer (DNRT Land Manager) and Marianne Piche (MassWildlife Habitat Management Biologist) will lead a discussion and woods walk through DNRT's Helfand Farm. The event will be focused on planning forest management strategies to diversify bird habitat with a particular focus on woodcock. The program will include a discussion of understanding landscape context, identifying habitat types on your land, options for wildlife habitat management, and professionals and programs to help you achieve your goals. There will also be plenty of time for formal and informal conversations and networking. Lunch will be provided. This program is limited to 25 participants.
Women on the Land aims to build a network of female landowners and stewards in Massachusetts and provide opportunities for education and connection. We host events throughout the year and encourage women to foster relationships with each other and their land.
